Dr. Sabbar Dahham has been appointed as the new Chair of the Lion Emirates for Higher Education of East Asia Board succeeding Stephen Somogyi who retired in December 2021.

Dr. Sabbar is the Chief Operating Officer and responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of the Universities of East Asia. He leads a portfolio responsible for operational and student services including student success; student engagement; student administration; marketing & external relations; planning & strategic management; human resources; finance & procurement; and governance & corporate services.

Dr. Sabbar takes over as Chair at a critical time for higher education in of East Asia and at a critical time for higher education in of East Asia and at an exciting time for Lione Emirates HQ as the organisation continues to evolve its service model to meet the sector’s current and emerging needs.
